Digital design · Computer architecture
Designed the instruction register, ALU, display unit and PCB layouts for a 6-bit SAP-1 CPU in Proteus that executes each instruction in 5 T-states with decimal 7-segment output [C1].
A Proteus implementation of a 6-bit computer based on the SAP-1 (Simple-As-Possible) architecture. A single 6-bit bus links an 8 × 6-bit RAM, a 3-bit program counter, the accumulator and B register, and a 6-bit ALU for addition and subtraction; the instruction register and controller-sequencer generate the control signals for each fetch and execute cycle. The final design adds an optimised decimal display and shortens every instruction to 5 T-states.
| Mnemonic | Operation |
|---|---|
LDA | Load data from memory into the accumulator |
ADD | Add memory data to the accumulator |
SUB | Subtract memory data from the accumulator |
OUT | Transfer the accumulator to the output display |
HLT | Halt the computer |
Instruction register, ALU and output (display) unit design; integration with the 6-bit bus; PCB design for the input unit, MAR address selector and RAM; simulation testing and the project reports.
Embedded & IoT · Safety system
Wrote ESP32 firmware that reads gas and flame sensors and drives a four-state safety response (exhaust fan, water pump, servo shutoff, alarm) with live ThingSpeak monitoring over Wi-Fi.
An ESP32-based system that detects LPG / combustible-gas leaks and flames, warns locally with a buzzer, LED and LCD, operates protective actuators, and uploads sensor readings to ThingSpeak so the site can be watched remotely.
| Condition | Fan | Pump | Servo | Alarm |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Safe | Off | Off | Safe | Off |
| Gas only | On | Off | Shutoff | On |
| Fire only | Off | On | Shutoff | On |
| Gas + fire | Off | On | Shutoff | On |
When gas and fire are detected together, the fire response takes priority.
Embedded & IoT · Instrumentation
Combined five sensor-driven functions on one Arduino Nano: light-based activation, temperature-controlled fan, smoke alarm, ultrasonic tank-level display and automatic water dispensing.
Project demonstration video.
Built for a measurement and instrumentation laboratory, the Arduino Nano monitors several sensors continuously and drives relays, a pump, a buzzer and an I²C LCD.
Circuit assembly, Arduino programming, sensor integration, water-level logic, relay control, LCD interfacing, testing, troubleshooting and the demonstration.
Microcontroller · Assembly
Programmed tic-tac-toe in 8051 assembly with two-player and Player vs. AI modes, keypad input, LCD prompts and a 3 × 3 LED board, simulated in Proteus.
A complete tic-tac-toe game written in MCS-51 assembly for the AT89C51 and simulated in Proteus. A 4×3 keypad takes the moves, a 16×2 LCD shows prompts and results, and a 3×3 board of red and green LEDs shows the X and O positions.
*) and Player vs. AI (#) modesAssembly code, keypad and LCD interfacing, LED-board design, the Proteus schematic, debugging, testing and documentation.
Signal processing · Python
Built a DSP pipeline in Python (Librosa, NumPy, SciPy) that matches Mel-spectrogram features with a sliding window and detected 19 occurrences of the target pattern with timestamps.
Detects and counts every occurrence of a short audio template inside a longer recording and reports when each one happens. In the documented test configuration the detector found 19 occurrences of the template word.
Results depend on the threshold, and strong noise or large tempo and pitch changes lower the similarity scores. Dynamic time warping or learned embeddings would make the matcher more robust.
Power & machines · Hardware
Wired and commissioned a 440 V three-phase starter panel with contactors, an on-delay timer and overload protection, reducing motor starting current through timed star-to-delta transfer.
Project demonstration video.
Starting an induction motor direct-on-line draws a large inrush current. This panel starts the motor in star, where each winding sees about Vline/√3, and an on-delay timer then releases the star contactor and energises the delta contactor for normal running.
Circuit planning, component selection, wiring, timer configuration, contactor integration, protection setup, testing, troubleshooting and the demonstration.
Microprocessor · 8086 assembly
Wrote an 8086 assembly table manager that sorts complete rows by any user-selected column.
An interactive program for the 8086: the user sets the number of rows and columns, names each column and marks it as text or numeric, enters validated data, and then sorts the whole table by any column. Rows move as complete records, so every field stays with its row.
INT 21hRegister operations, segmented memory, procedures and the stack, address calculation, string handling and string-to-integer conversion.
Software · MATLAB
Built a MATLAB GUI with timed, word-count and custom tests that reports WPM and accuracy.
A typing-speed test written as a MATLAB class derived from matlab.apps.AppBase, with the interface built programmatically from MATLAB UI components.
GUI design, the test modes, WPM and accuracy calculation, result plotting, timer logic, file export, debugging and testing.
